In the course of recent years we have been watching the market for fresh fruit, especially grapes, it has been changing and adapting to the new demands of consumers. Who in recent years they have increased their expectations for taste and quality. Therefore, many nurseries have focused on developing great-tasting varieties. This in hand with a high yield and agronomic management easier; in line with the difficulties and labor cost in the world.

One of the most successful organizations in achieving this goal is IFG (International Fruit Genetics). A laboratory specializing in genetic fruit vine. IFG is formed by the Pandolfi family Jack Stoller and society; both partners recognized Sunridge Nurseries nursery in the town of Bakersfield in California. California, father and mother of many of these developments are looking, also, that these new varieties to expand production window.

Thus favoring local production, thereby reducing the need for imports to the American market. Therefore, it is important to analyze what our current and future productive window; and simultaneously, forming strategic alliances with owners of new varieties. This will be part of a club of producers, who may enjoy the limited licenses for these varieties and commercial benefits.

IFG Convention – Agrícola Andrea s.a.c.

In August this year, after analyzing the advantages of the different new varieties and breeders in the market, we take an important decision. Signing a contract with the company International Fruit Genetics (IFG) for sowing of four of its patented varieties and participate in the programs of commercial strategies.

The four varieties we have chosen so far are:

Jack Salute: seedless red and good size (23mm +) and high productivity per hectare variety (est 3200 boxes by hectare.). A very good replacement for Flame and Crimson varieties. Some call “Crimson Killer”.

Sweet Globe: seeded and green, it could replace the Sugraone. this variety is large and high productivity (24mm + and est. 3500 boxes by hectare).

Cotton Candy: seedless green and is one of the stars of IFG. Despite its high level of shelling, it has a great demand for its particular taste; the sweet cotton fairs. It is harvested with a high level of sweetness to maximize flavor.

Sweet Jubilee: this variety is black and pit, but large and high productivity. Levels of 4500 boxes per hectare estimated ballas of more than 25mm. Ideal for markets such as Korea.
